An exciting opportunity for a jewellery student to join the team at The Ouze. As a Design Intern you’ll play an important role of assisting on multiple projects across our wholesale, bespoke and direct to consumer channels. You will gain valuable insight into how a growing jewellery brand operates.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Wax carving
- Design development from initial sketch, through to sampling and finished outcome
- Working closely with Creative Director and execute towards given design direction
- Packing and order fulfilment
- Benchwork
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Strong portfolio showcasing an creative vision and technical ability
- Passionate about design and jewellery
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment and take direction
- Strong visual and verbal communication skills
- A proactive and positive attitude
- Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) is a plus

Summary of the roleThis role will offer you the opportunity to work with The Ouze as we elevate our brand presence across digital platforms. You will work directly with the team (there’s only 2 of us and a dog), providing ample opportunity for hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment. You will be joining at a very exciting time as we prepare for our first presentation for London Fashion Week (September).
Your primary focus will be to help manage and grow our online community, ensuring consistent and engaging content that reflects the unique aesthetic of The Ouze. You will be responsible for the creation and execution of our content strategy across various social media channels, primarily Instagram and YouTube.
Job Description & Tasks
- Organise and manage the content calendar and schedule for all social media platforms.
- Create, film, and edit high-quality visual content (photos and videos) for both organic marketing and paid advertising campaigns.
- Document daily studio life, behind-the-scenes processes, and product development to tell compelling brand stories.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase engagement and grow our social media following on Instagram and YouTube.
- Monitor social media trends and identify new opportunities for content creation and audience engagement.
- Assist with copywriting for social media captions, blog posts, and other digital content.
- Analyse social media performance data and provide insights for future content strategy.
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure brand consistency across all visual assets.

What is the working atmosphere?
The new studio is between Farringdon and Barbican in London. We are on the top floor of a commercial office. There are only two full time employees at The Ouze, and often my dog Peggy who is always excited to meet new team members. We aim to provide a fun and exciting atmosphere where you can learn new skills and gain insight into all aspects of our business.
